In every way, my life is a constantly surprising journey. Ceramics is my second career. I first started out as a nurse-midwife and specialist in child survival and safe motherhood (reducing maternal mortality), working for over thirty years all around the globe, mainly in developing countries in Africa and Latin America, but also in Asia, Eastern Europe and the US. After 2001, I gradually left that work (had enough of traveling) and took up potting, which I now do full time out of my own studio, located in a community of artists in an old mill building in Needham, MA. I sell my work out of my studio to the local community, which has supported me enthusiastically.
